It looks like there is something wrong with your ubuntu installation. Or maybe you're out of disk space? Is the "sbox" user your normal user? I mean do you login into the graphical session using this user? What does "df -h" tells you? How do the permissions of /tmp look like? Should be something like: drwxrwxrwt 17 root root 4.0K 2009-06-18 08:07 tmp Conny
