Hmmm For a few dollars more you could get a cheap SmartQ 5/7, install Mer on it, disable Mer and run VNC or just remote X. presto... untethered display (or use a USB cable for that 20th century feel) David -- "Don't worry, you'll be fine; I saw it work in a cartoon once..."
