[maemo-developers] Trademark and use of "maemo" name in version string

Hi all,

While uploading packages imported from Debian, I was planning to use
the same policy that Ubuntu does, which is to add "ubuntu" to the
revision part if there are any ubuntu-specific changes, so e.g.
"foo_1.0-1" on Debian becomes "foo_1.0-1ubuntu1" on Ubuntu. For maemo
packages, I was planning to do something like that, thus using
"foo_1.0-1maemo1" (which some packages already use). Then I came
across the trademark usage documents:

>From reading it (including the FAQ), it was not clear whether the
version string would be eligible for "fair use" of maemo trademark.
What would be the best choice in my case? Can I use "maemo" or should
I come up with some other string?

PS: Currently I'm working on uploading packages for the pymaemo
project (https://garage.maemo.org/projects/pymaemo/) and for some
packages we need to come up with some version string for the
maemo-specific changes.
