Projects like GNOME or Ubuntu need 6 month iterations between stable releases. Would you say that 6 months after the Maemo 5 final is good enough or too slow?

PS: if 6 months to reach end users is considered too slow for an official widget that today is still under discussion then perhaps we need to re-check expectations based on real life examples?
