This really is a damned if you do, damned if you don't type situation that shouldn't be quite so painful in the future. Things as I understand it: - Qt 4.5 on Maemo5 had no API/ABI compatibility guarentees. - Qt 4.6 took liberal advantage of that to change and fix some rather suboptimal parts. - This means, if the builder wasn't updated, then there would be other pain in the form of stuff not working once PR1.2 was released. To the best of my knowledge (from talking to Qt on Maemo folks), there is now API/ABI stability, and as such, this shouldn't cause issues again. In short, I think the action taken is probably the lesser of the evils, even if it definitely is far from ideal.
