Easiest is probably using a cellphone through bluetooth. Then a mifi router is also easy.

Difficult: usb dongles
The N8xx can't provide sufficient power for 3g dongles, so you'd need a powered usb hub. The OS isn't setup to handle it automatically either, and the kernel modules for usbserial would need to be compiled. The kernel is quite old, so the drivers are probably a bit suboptimal at this point. You'd probably create a pppd script to initiate the connection from x-terminal.

So yeah, a mifi-like router (basically a battery powered 3g "dongle" with wifi to share the internet) is easiest solution, or a phone capable of running Joikuspot, which is a software shares a phone's 3g internet over the phone's wifi, would be easiest.
