There are also questions of just how good compatibility would be (i.e. what do we do in the autobuilder with software requiring, say, QtQuick 1.1), or how can we make version switching painless for people using the QtSDK (which will always track official releases). The best would be, as always, to have those integrated upstream and let them trickle down through official channels. Now, while the trickling part is not something I would hold my breath for in the case of the N900, I still think it is very important that we keep things as close/merged with upstream as possible.
