I have never been completely happy with the Maemo Extras QA process, and now that Maemo is no longer a primary focus for many in the community, I think that it would be reasonable to lower any bounds to promotion which we had in the past to new levels. We should ensure that we have some protection against malicious & spammy application uploads, but no more - a developer in good faith should be able to ship his application quite easily in Extras.
