Nokia has backed out of MeeGo and today they have backed out of QT. This leaves the Maemo distribution solely in the hands of the community. I would still like to contribute to Maemo (or MeeGo if a build is released), but I have some concerns. Will Maemo.org and its infrastructure be online for the foreseeable future? I have a few Maemo apps (GTK-only) that I'm in the process of developing, but if maemo.org and its repositories are going to be taken offline I don't see a need to continue development. What about the Maemo Council? Is it still relevant? Where's the best place to study about the community update repositories? If Maemo.org dies, there needs to be a web site to replace it to join together the Maemo community. P.S. I'm disappointed in Nokia for firing all of the Maemo/MeeGo crew and going a different direction. Hopefully those people find jobs soon. If any of you are still subscribed to this mailing list - Thank you for developing Maemo. With the right marketing, Maemo would have been just as big as any other mobile OS.
