Kimmo,<br>
<br>
Thanks for trying.<br>
<br>
I investigated further and learned that saving changes to the file locally is very browser dependent.<br>
- In IE some sort of Active X is used<br>
- The Firefox code "delves into the internals of the browser" <br>
<br>
At any rate, the desktop solution is to use an Opera-specific mod that
involves Java (see
<a href="http://my.opera.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=91372">http://my.opera.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=91372</a> for details).<br>
<br>
There's a plug-in that allows Safari to save changes, and perhaps this would work with the GTK+Webcore browser in the 770.<br>
<br>
Or perhaps the author of TiddlyWiki will accede to the pleas to integrate Opera support.<br>
<br>
At any rate, the microcontent approach of TiddlyWiki seems very well
suited to the Internet Tablet approach. Take a look at <a href="http://tiddlywiki.com">tiddlywiki.com</a>
and see for yourself (and thanks to John Holmblad for bringing this to
my attention on this list).<br>

Issue 26<br>
<br>
Hi,<br>
<br>
I tried it, but it does not seem to work. I could not do exactly as the instructions say because<br>
"right click" (long press with stylus) menu does not have "Save link as.." or similar option. I tried<br>
by saving it manually but then it pops up dialog "it's not possible to save changes using this<br>
browser" when I press the save changes link of the local copy.<br>

Since TiddlyWiki is "just" an html file, you'd think it would run fine on the Nokia 770.<br>
<br>
However
the TiddlyWikiTutorial site says it may not work with Opera, which the
770 will come with. The TiddlyWiki.com site says only Firefox, IE 6 and
Safara can save changes. Without that feature, TiddlyWiki isn't really
useful.<br>
<br>
Perhaps someone with a device could visit <a onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)" href="http://tiddlywiki.com/" target="_blank">tiddlywiki.com</a>
and try to save changes (well, clicking that in the sidebar will give
you instructions on how to save things to a file to which changes can
be saved).<br>

All,<br>

I discovered this today from a Linux user group to which I belong:<br>

<br>
Do you think a tiddlywiki will work with the N770 browser?<br>
<br>
Note
that one of the tiddlywiki authors mentioned on the aforementioned home
page has a site devoted to tablet pc's. I guess we need to educate
Christopher about the forthcoming Nokia N770 so I have copied him on
this email!<br>
