your jobs@Nokia section at maemo.org is a great idea.
I would like to work for Nokia @Nokia as a think-tank,
developing new features, applications, tools, enhancements to existing ones.
The problem is money and financing of any such project.
As Linux Open Source gets commercialized in embedded devices, another issue is to have
Linux developers showing willingness to work for free on a permanent assignment.
Another issue is to have community of developers like Maemo.org to work
jointly on a group projects.

Trying to join Maemo.org to develop my own applications for Nokia Tablet
all I can say , the community is in permanent competition, so there is a small chance to have third party developers to be accepted by developer of the core applications.

The idea of Linux Open Source Software doesn't match present day developed Linux based embedded devices.
Business is business.
If the project is corporate project, Linux
Open Source Software developers want money for their work and time devoted to the project.

So one development idea is to have open source platform, loosing corporate control on it - see openWrt for access points, wifi routers, Linux for PC Intel processors and others
and let developers to work without financing or have
Think-Tank position established within the corporation (model coming from MIT, University of Texas, Globewide Network Academy, Global University, Cern)
and build embedded devices designed
as Finite State Machines
and have application code to be represented
by Finite State Machine charts too.

Nokia is too big corporation to cope with embedded devices, open source developments
and manufacturing of hardware at the same time.

Cell phone, Internet tablet market is highly competitive - see Nokia, Samsung, Motorola and others, so the development business is highly risky, like
trading option for future
contracta at the London Metal Exchange.

Not having Think-Tank position incorporated withing the corporation
there is a little chance to develop highly competitive products, applications
and have best world's developers to work for the software projects, at the same time.

I have already contacted Chairman of the Board at Nokia, making offer for some highly sophisticated user interfaces.
But I am afraid, Nokia has no department I could negotiate IP transfer with,
as no Think-Tank position is established and there is nobody personally interested within Nokia to aquire third prty highly sophisticated features for cell phones , Internet tablet and other products made by Nokia.

Nokia is not open-minded environment for third party developments,
so Think-Tank position is what Nokia would welcome immediately now and in a future.

Please look at embedded device, cell phone markets in China, Korea, India,
highly
competitive markets, with highly competitive prices.

Darius Slawiec
Nokia Wimax Tablet - Google Group
http://groups.google.com/group/nokia-internet-tablet?hl=en
