I think that is possible to build a maemo based distribution for any embedded device without nokia closed components. A good proof of this is the mamona project (<a href="http://dev.openbossa.org/trac/mamona/">http://dev.openbossa.org/trac/mamona/</a>) sponsored by INdT.<br>

If you took a look at Mobile Internet Device market, for the software<br>
platform players, maemo, mobilin, unbuntu and probably android are there,<br>
but looks like only Nokia tablet device is maemo based.<br>

So my question is "Possible for other company to utilize maemo platform to<br>
build their own device?"<br>

Technical perspective, I saw from some blogs saying that you can not get<br>
100% necessary components from <a href="http://maemo.org" target="_blank">maemo.org</a>. Does that mean definitely you can<br>
not build a maemo device without special support from Nokia?<br>
