here in spain all the universities also work with an interconected auth system 
using EAP TTLS, maybe some in europe too: http://www.eduroam.org/ and 
http://www.eduroam.es/

i tried to port libcrypy-ssleay-perl[*] to nokia770 but i got some bizarre 
issues, take a look at the mailing list archive. with this lib you can use 
nocatlogin and use the non-encrypted+nocat option wifi.
