I think you are spot on about the lack of interest - certainly in the
customer rep I talked to, so not sure what the warranty is worth.  I have
to ship the charger to them at my expense and then wait for a replacement
(if they see a problem with it).  Seems really silly for a piece of gear
that I can buy for under $20.

OTOH, the car chargers (the DC-4) seem to be really robust and I doubt I
will ever have an issue with them (I bought two: one to hack apart for USB
