It depends ;-) I've purchased "bare" 18650 lithium cells without protection circuits, and I know laptop batteries generally have circuits, no idea about the BP-5Ls the Nokia tablets use. When I was talking about lithium cells not being able to tolerate overcharge I was talking about the bare cells themselves-- not as part of a finished assembly like the BP-5L. Larry
