I know who to blame, then.  :-)

Actually, the worst bit was with the old osso-xterm that showed a popup
window for entering Ctrl-letters.  The keyboard would disappear,
reappear a faction of a second later, then disappear altogether.

Of course I use Microsoft. Setting up a stable unix network is no challenge ;p
