My ISP gave me this Pirelli Discus DRG A125G router/access point. It seems to be Linux-based, with some custom ISP firmware. Sort of nice. Unfortunately it doesn't play well with N810's power savings: mg at laptop$ ping -n ip-of-my-n810 ... --- 192.168.1.90 ping statistics --- 100 packets transmitted, 100 received, 0% packet loss, time 99355ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 490.189/20743.724/49717.384/14067.338 ms, pipe 39 With a latency of 49 *seconds* you cannot have an ssh session -- it times out before you can start typing. If I open an xterm on the N810 and start pinging the AP to keep it from sleeping, everything is fine. If I go to the very-well-hidden Connectivity settings -> Connections -> name of my connection -> Edit -> You cannot edit while connected -> Ok -> Close -> Close -> Disconnect -> Connectivity settings -> Connections -> name of my connection -> Edit -> Next -> Next -> Next -> Next -> Advanced -> Other and change Power savings to On (intermediate) (*whew*!), then ssh becomes usable. Just giving some Google juice to the "DRG A125G + N810" combination and venting some feelings, feel free to ignore this post. Marius Gedminas -- Truth does not demand belief. Scientists do not join hands every Sunday, singing, 'Yes, gravity is real! I will have faith! I will be strong! I believe in my heart that what goes up, up, up must come down, down, down. Amen!' If they did, we would think they were pretty insecure about it. - Dan Barker -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
