That's why I held off getting an eeepc until they got aaround to the 
1000HE, which has an almost full-size keyboard.  I too have large hands.
I span more than an octave on a piano.  My 1000HE runs Debian testing.  
The only typing problem I have with it is mixing backspace up with 
delete.  Usually easy to undo.
