[maemo-users] Calendar alarm does not sound if silent profile is active

I always found the alarm clock application very useful, especially 
because I can set the phone silent and still get woken on time. Since it 
only supports waking me up within the next 24 hours, I set up an event 
with alarm in the calendar last Friday which should have woken me today. 
Unfortunately, it didn't. The phone was set silent as always at night 
which also disabled the calendar's alarm. Is there any way of changing 
the behavior to that of the alarm clock?
