HI,

Some options;
- PDF's are optimised for different purposes; Web or Printing. It is
possible that your manual is optimised for printing, and therefore
larger. Sometimes you can reprocess a pdf for a different purpose by printing postscript to a file, then converting the postscript to pdf again. (Try printing to postscript then using acrobat writer to reconvert with appropriate settings for the 770; This is tricky and can take some time - but can give good results)

- Sometimes you can split the pdf up into multipe files. I think you can use acrobat to do this on an existing file; or if you are using the 'printing' option above just convert page ranges.

- convert the PDF to html then just access it with the browser. The quickest option. Just be careful with the settings or you can stuff up your graphics. (I use greenstone's pdf import facility to do this [

There is a delay when changing pages and documents with heavy graphics take longer to render than I would like, but I have yet to come across a pdf that has failed to load. For me at least, the great screen makes up for the slowness when reading pdfs.
