It sets up a series of symbolic links so that the executables can be found on the default path. You can enter the steps manually or use the script.

Hello All.

I am using the Nokia 770 for a month or so now, and I have to say - generally - I am pleased.

It is nice to see so many good-hearted people working so hard to make the GNU/Linux OS be the best OS ever!
So - to all the coders / developers / whatever out there - A BIG THANKS!!!

Sadly, I am not a coder, have nothing to do with software development although I would have lied to (believe me - I've tried), so I cannot contribute too much to the mix, except being a happy and satisfied user.

This is getting a bit off-topic - so I'll get to the matter at hand:

I have successfully gained root, but I cannot seem to be able to add the Install path (/var/lib/install/usr/bin) to the user / root .profile file. I have to cd all the way and then run the commands.

I would also like to organize the menu structure a little bit different from the default 'extras' sub-menu.

Is it possible to add icons to the 'Desktop' (home) like a Desktop sub directory under /home/user and a bunch of links there? (like on my standard Ubuntu desktop PC)?

I tried following the instructions for basic customizations and I ended up screwing up the OS and had to re-flash (for the 3rd time...). Is there an easy-to-follow (a.k.a HOWTO) to do this? Maybe a GUI app in Java for the PC?
