Apparently, the browser has some built-in smartness for opening pull streams (the client application starts and controls the stream transfering). This is uncommon but definitely cool :-)<br><br>In this case there is no issue regarding the amount of memory available in the device. The remote file is not entirely downloaded. The application just creates a buffer for storing a certain number of packets, which are discarded as soon as they are combined and displayed as a video frame or audio sample.

<br>it. That's why I said it started playing _right away_. The lights on the<br>router keep flickering all through playing the video.<br><br>Anyway, I'm rebuilding ffmpeg and vlc on the desktop for mythstreamtv<br>and I'll let you know how it goes.
