It's not the battery. The output voltage i measured looks fine.
Is there something like a hard-reset? Or any other way to reflash it?

Sebi

On 2/1/07,

Even with the battery totally drained I think the screen should still light up and display the battery icon, though. You might want to exchange it where you bought it or call Nokia about warranty work.

Was the charger plugged into a surge suppressor? Maybe it took a hit when it was plugged in the other night.

-- Paul

Thanks for the quick reply. But It's not that easy. The screen remains black all the time no matter what buttons i press or cables i plug in. _Nothing_ happens: no screen, no led, no usb...

I can not reflash it, because no communication over usb is possible. Is it possible, that the battery drained totally?

What exactly happens when you try to turn it on? Does the Nokia logo appear on the screen? Does the desktop eventually? Does the screen remain black the whole time? How about the LED around the 5-way navigator? Does this lightup as your pressing the power button waiting for it to boot? More information would be very handy.

My gut reaction is that you'll have to reflash it, but it might need warranty work, or it could be something simple.
Information about reflashing is here:
http://www.nokiausa.com/support/phones/softwareupdate/1,8461,N800,00.html

Reflashing will restore it to factory condition, so you will loose any software/data stored on the device. Anything on your MMC will be safe.

Hi

I bought a n800 a coupe of weeks ago and I'm quite happy with it.

But yesterday I left it charging over night and in the morning the display was black. Now it wont boot anymore! I tried everything: removed the battery, pressed all kinds of buttons, plugged the usb-cable and/or charger in....

Does anyone know what to do? How could i reanimate it?

Sebi
