Also, its potentially possible that there could be something that
corrupted your internal memory card's virtual memory space, in which
case formatting the card on another machine might be appropriate. If
you've got a backup and other valuable files on the card, move it off
the card before formatting.
Last resort, you might try downloading the lastest version of the OS
from Nokia to another computer and reinstall it to your N800.

<pre class="moz-signature" cols="72"><font color="#000000">Presumably it will work on a N770. Plus it couldn't hurt if it's really dead, plus it does't take much time to do.
Also, if it's a brick in need of repair, you've typically got to send it back bare bones (no cards), so making a backup of the card on a computer is a good idea anyway in case you misplace the card during it's trip to be serviced. The little buggers seem to have legs around our house. </font>
