Bingo - Iam able to navigate to known ip addresses. resolv.conf only lists 127.0.0.1 so I need to learn more about navigatng around a linux machine. Thanks for your help. Now at least I know where to start looking
Check /etc/resolv.conf. This sound like one of the name servers served
up by the DHCP server is functional and the rest aren't. Or manually
edit the file have you've been served an address such that
/etc/resolv.conf uses name servers that you know are valid.

Have you tried pinging or connecting to servers using their IP address
and not hostname?
--
=W

On Mon, Feb 25, 2008 at 11:36 AM, Michael Conklin
<michael.conklin131@gmail.com> wrote:
