STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM:

1. Have no chat windows opened or minimized.
2. Do not have sound muted.
3. Receive an instant message.


EXPECTED OUTCOME:

The tablet should:
- play the appropriate sound file for an incoming instant message
- update the application switcher icon appropriately
- when the application switcher icon is tapped, display the appropriate
icon/name for the sender of the instant message in the right column of the
application switcher menu


ACTUAL OUTCOME:

The tablet plays the appropriate sound for an incoming instant message.
However, the application switcher icon does not change. Additionally, when the
application switcher icon is tapped, there's no indication that an instant
message has been received. There's no right column items in the menu, and
therefore, no way of knowing who sent the IM.


REPRODUCIBILITY:

I have not yet identified any pattern.

OTHER COMMENTS:

This problem can persist through several messages from one person. I'll hear
the "chat started" sound followed a "new message" sound for each subsequent
message from an individual. Eventually, the application switcher icon will
update, and by tapping that icon I'll be able to access the chat normally,
through an entry in the right column of the application switcher menu. However,
that update to the application switcher icon may not happen until approximately
5 to 15 minutes after the "chat started" sound played.
