I'm very sure that this is a Skype issue, and Skype bugs are out of scope for
this Maemo Bugtracker, hence INVALID.
Skype bugs should be reported to https://developer.skype.com/jira instead.

Anyway, to track this down correctly:

rajuvamsi007, so the STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM are
  1. Have an IMAP email account in Modest configured
  2. Get/Start a skype call
  3. Receive an email at the same time
, correct?

Does this also happen if you:
  1. Initiate a skype call.
  2. When the call is connected, open the email application.
  3. Perform a send/receive, opening an email
?

Can you provide a log by using syslogd? See
