Summary: SIP Calls keep ringing despite being picked up by other
                    side
           Product: Communication
           Version: 4.1.2 (4.2008.36-5)
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Medium
         Component: Internet Call
        AssignedTo: rtcomm at maemo.org
        ReportedBy: shopping at tarek.org
         QAContact: internet-call-bugs at maemo.org

SOFTWARE VERSION: 4.2008.36-5 with the latest RTComm from the Garage (update
2?)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM:

1. Connected to SIP with a Callcentric account.
2. Call any of a list of reliable numbers. (example: +1-514-340-8222, which is
an automated switchboard, so feel free to test with it)

EXPECTED OUTCOME:

That the call would ring, and that I could start a conversation when the call
is picked up by the other side.

ACTUAL OUTCOME:

The call continues to "ring", and never connects. On the other side, people
report that they pick up the call, but hear nothing.

REPRODUCIBILITY:

Majority of calls. Some calls connect directly, and some calls need a couple of
attempts to connect. Some telephone numbers never work. Some always work. Some
are in between in terms of reliability. The example number cited above never
works.

OTHER COMMENTS:

1. I have tried all manner of enabling/disabling codecs, both by copying the
files in /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10 to ".off" and with editing
/etc/farsight/gstcodecs.conf . Also, I added:

[audio/G711]
clock-rate=8000

2. I am willing to create a test account and put some money on it at
Callcentric for anybody who wishes to take this on. Simply contact me by email
or here.

3. Incoming calls generally work, and calls also work with "Click to dial", a
service that calls me, and then calls the number I am trying to reach.
