Comment #17 mentions a link which includes the following:

dbus-send --system --dest=com.nokia.csd.Call --type=method_call --print-reply
/com/nokia/csd/call com.nokia.csd.Call.CreateWith string:"$1" uint32:0

It is meant to be called from a shell script, so $1 is the number to dial. This
bypasses the interface restriction meaning you can make voice calls to numbers
with *#.

Is there a similar dbus method call that we can use as a temporary workaround
for non-voice calls, i.e. where the phone prints the response on the screen
(balance, etc.)? I am assuming that the response would be instead printed to
the terminal as a result of the dbus-send command.
