I don't think this duplicates bug 6377, no.  That bug suggests that the
contacts app should provide a context menu for contacts, offering options to
edit or delete the contact.  This bug suggests that contacts *added to the
desktop* should behave more like contacts opened in the contacts app, by
opening the editor when you touch the contact's picture.
