I couldn't log into Skype from my N900 for a while.  I logged into skype.com
with the same password as on my N900, then "changed" it into the same password,
tried again (while reentering the password on the N900 all the time).  Didn't
work.  Then I changed my password at skype.com (and on the N900) and I was able
to log in again.
