I can't import the contacts from my Maemo summit loan N900 to the N900 that
I've just bought via the Developer Discount Program.
SOFTWARE VERSION:
(Settings > General > About product)
1.2009.42-11 on both N900s.
EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM:
(Explain in detail what you do (e.g. tap on OK) and what you see (e.g. message
Connection Failed appears))
1. On N900 1, make sure that Bluetooth is "on" and "visible", via the Status
menu. My device name is "Nokia N900 murraycloan".
2. Do the same on the N900 2. The device name is Nokia N900murrayc2"
3. On N900 2, start the Contacts application (by touching the shortcut on the
desktop).
4. In the "Get Contacts" dialog (shown when there are no contacts), touch
"Syncronize from other device".
5. In the "Transfer & Sync" assistant, click Next.
6. Click "Retrieve data" and Next.
7. Click "Select device"
EXPECTED OUTCOME:
8. The device is listed and I can start importing contacts.
ACTUAL OUTCOME:
8. The other N900 (N900 1) is not listed in the "Select a device" dialog, even
after waiting several minutes. Sometimes other nearby devices are listed.
REPRODUCIBILITY:
(always, less than 1/10, 5/10, 9/10)
Always in this direction. But the N900 2 _is_ listed when I try the same thing
in the other direction, from the N900 1. However all sync operations are then
just marked as "Failed".
EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED:
Several extras and extras-testing apps on the loan N900.
