There is a vote system for that.
Severity is used to grade the impact of the problem (preferrably taken
objectively, not in a "waah, I so want this fixed now" sense). For example,
major severity is for problems causing major loss of function in something that
was supposed to work. Here, the functionality is not implemented to begin with.
Priority is used by the maintainers to reflect on how the developer team
prioritizes work. This might be different from how you want it to be
prioritized, so please, don't make our work more difficult by trying to subvert
our public bug reporting processes; our internal error management won't budge
anyway, so this only brings confusion.
Andre, I hope all this is documented somewhere, too.
