Summary: Contacts should be editable, independent of how they
were shown
Product: Contacts
Version: 5.0/(1.2009.42-11)
Platform: All
OS/Version: Maemo
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: Low
Component: General
AssignedTo: nobody at maemo.org
ReportedBy: w at uter.be
QAContact: contacts-bugs at maemo.bugs
SOFTWARE VERSION:
(Settings > General > About product)
EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM:
(Explain in detail what you do (e.g. tap on OK) and what you see (e.g. message
Connection Failed appears))
1. Go to the contacts application
2. Choose a contact
3. Tap on the avatar. The edit dialog for this contact appears.
4. Quit the contact application, add a contact to the desktop
5. Open the contact through the desktop shortcut
6. Tap the avatar. The edit dialog for this contact does not appear.
EXPECTED OUTCOME: The edit dialog for this contact should appear as well
ACTUAL OUTCOME: Nothing happens
REPRODUCIBILITY: Always
(always, less than 1/10, 5/10, 9/10)
EXTRA SOFTWARE INSTALLED:
OTHER COMMENTS: Though both interfaces are different (what's shown when one
taps on a contact shortcut on the desktop is a stacked dialog; the contacts
application, OTOH, is a full-screen window), they are visually similar enough
that one can easily be confused for the other. It's happened quite often to me
now that I went to a contact through a desktop shortcut, reviewed the
information, figured out that something was missing, tried to add something,
and only then remembered where I was in the interface.
This is an annoying misfeature.
