Yes, very likely. Some proxies apply NAT-aware heuristics when they detect
translation of the sender's address, and this depends on putting the true
source IP address in the topmost Via header.
The Sofia-SIP project could spend time on adding (resurrecting) STUN support
for SIP signaling flows, but this is an incomplete solution, inferior to the
one specified by RFC 3581, which Sofia-SIP supports.
