You get a confirmation dialog.

Additionally you can protect your entire device with a key code, if you are
careless enough to let your phone laying arround open in hostile environments.

Should be enough protection, shouldn't it? Especially as every marvelous
application you put on your phone could just erase your ~/.osso-abook/ folder. 

Use the backup application if you fear to loose data.
