Hm, I think there's something missing from your description... What I see is:

Steps:
1. open phone application
2. tap contact list
3. tap a contact

Outcome:
Each of the contact's phone numbers are offered once for each available call
method, for example:

Mobile
xxxxxxxxx
--------------
Phone (home)
yyyyyyyyy
--------------
SIP audio
xxxxxxxxx
--------------
SIP audio
yyyyyyyyy
--------------

When multiple SIP accounts are defined and have the "Use for telephone numbers"
option enabled, a tap on one of the SIP audio options asks which account to
use.

The above is identical with the keyboard slide either open or closed.

In the dialing pad, the Call type button appears in both modes as well.
