EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM: 
Conversations -> New SMS -> Enter ":D" as message, send to a contact using a
phone not showing smiley as pictures.

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
Message arrives as ":D"


ACTUAL OUTCOME:
Message arrives as ":d"
