Yes, it seems the users of Planet Maemo are quite trigger-happy with
the "Bury" button.

It would be interesting to know whether it is a large number of users,
or just couple of unhappy individuals.

But yes, at the moment if your blog posts have been buried a lot you
will get punished in karma. But maybe we could lower the impact a bit?
All the karma variables are configurable anyway...

This is not very suprising, for two reasons:

* That is what most people do: they register but then forget about the
whole thing
* We don't count everything in karma yet. Garage commits, tickets, etc
would probably reduce that 90% to a more reasonable number

For the latter point, it would be a good idea if people post
enhancement requests on needed karma calculation plugins to bugzilla.
I would be more than happy to implement more of them. At least ITT
integration has been discussed, and is in the "100 days" plan.
