and the variants of EAP that are currently standardized including

    TLS - Transport Layered Security


    TTLS - Tunneled Transport Layer Security

A key difference between TLS and TTLS is that TLS requires both the 
supplicant and the authentication server to  utilize digital 
certificates, whereas TTLS only requires the authentication server to 
utilize a digital certificate. Here is the url to an article that
