    This category:

    The device lock is implemented in software and so if you set it to
    require the code to boot up and you have no other way to boot up
    other than the default os, then you'll have to work a bit harder
    to find an alternative boot strategy (e.g. bootmenu, boot from
    usb, etc.) Once booted, you can reset/get the code as below.

    Even better then resetting it, you can get it back in the
    clear. With powerlaunch installed
    (http://powerlaunch.garage.maemo.org/) you can run 
    powerline getdevicelockcode
    and it'll get the current code or
    powerline setdevicelockcode abcdef
    to set the code to whatever you want. I haven't tested with an
    N810 but it definitely works with an N800.
