yes, the old libxfixes3 packages provided libXfixes.so.0 -- big mistake.  (i'd
forgotten about this, sorry.)  there's not much we can do short of rebuilding
everything that links directly to libXfixes.so.0.  as for the other issues, i
don't remember having seen that myself.
