You'll get no argument from me about this point. That the n800 almost never
needs to be turned off is the reason we haven't RMA'ed it. In day to day usage
it's a tiny enough bug that, since Nokia has acknowledged it and plans to fix
it, we're content to wait for a fix with the current n800 we have rather than
risk getting one that's more or differently borken.

I think we all agree that being able to consistently turn the device back on in
a timely manner if one should turn it off for some reason would be a nice
feature. :)


And the bug still exists on this n800 with the current OS2008. It popped up
last night when my wife turned it off to see if it would turn back on. It was
off the charger at the time. It wouldn't turn back on immediately. After about
30 minutes with the batter out and off the charger, it turned back on.

That's exactly how we use it.
