           Summary: Virtual keyboards generated from gen_vkb do not honor
                    the "baseline" attribute from the keysizes block.
           Product: System software
           Version: 4.0
          Platform: N800
        OS/Version: Windows
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Medium
         Component: Input method framework
        AssignedTo: mdamt at maemo.org
        ReportedBy: roblynn at magma.ca
         QAContact: input-method-framework-bugs at maemo.org

SOFTWARE VERSION:
OS2008 v2.2007.50-2

STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM:
0. Followed the instructions from the section "Virtual Keyboard" of the
http://maemo.org/development/documentation/how-tos/3-x/howto_him_bora.html
page.
1. Modified en_GB.xml and changed the lines:
<size height="35" baseline="26" width="35" margin_top="0" margin_left="0" />
to something like
<size height="35" baseline="16" width="35" margin_top="0" margin_left="0" />
2. Re-generated the en_GB.vkb using gen_vkb (from the
libimlayouts-generator_1.5.6-1 package (either i386 for scratchbox or armel for
on-the-tablet)
3. Copied the updated en_GB.vkb to /usr/share/keyboards on the tablet
4. Send a HUP signal to the child /usr/bin/hildon-input-method
5. Bring forward the keyboard -- no change to the character positions.

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
All the characters in the virtual keyboard should have shifted up in the
layout.

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
No change to the virtual keyboard layout. This was working with OS2007.

REPRODUCIBILITY:
always

OTHER COMMENTS:
I discovered this when trying to migrate my Fitaly keyboard from OS2007 when I
migrated by N800 to OS2008.
