I have the same problem today with my new N800 with OS2008.  The unit was on
all day with screen/key locked and in my shirt pocket.  I heard a sound from
the unit; but didn't notice it was power off by itself. It won't power up
since.  I have not try any of the 3 minutes trick; but tried pulling out the SD
(8GB internal) card, no difference.  Hoping for the fix will be here soon so I
don't have to return the unit.
