Summary: DSP kernel does not seem to contain any CLK
                    functionality
           Product: System software
           Version: 4.1
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Keywords: enhancement-it2008
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: Low
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: nobody at maemo.org
        ReportedBy: S.G.Pickering at bath.ac.uk
         QAContact: hafqa at maemo.org

The DSP kernel does not seem to contain any CLK functionality, consequently it
is not possible to make a DSP task sleep(), nor is it possible to use clock()
and the like to time the time taken to execute a given piece of code.

This makes it difficult to write polling code which behaves well (tight polling
loop rather than polling then sleeping) and also hard to benchmark and compare
code as we can't compare execution times.

Could we have some clocks please?
