Sorry Grigori, I didn't realise you wanted more from me.
My update WAS within the "### Automatically added by update-sudoers start ###"
and "### Automatically added by update-sudoers end ###", so by your definition
possibly invalid.

I do think though that the fact that the sudoers file is built differently on
Maemo compared to any other distro (or at least any other I know) means it
creates a trap (which I fell into). If this were the common way the file was
created, then admins would expect anything between the banners to risk being
over-written, but as it is, there's no reason to assume this would happen.

The way this works, it would perhaps be better if visudo edited, say,
/etc/sudoers.d/sudo.local and then ran update-sudoers when the file was saved.

...just a few thoughts to save others from getting caught out.
