In theory one could make a datatype/outputmode "text_annotated" (or
somesuch) but especially if the existing annotations are to survive
editing of the article with tinymce (or any other such HTML editor)
which cannot be trusted to preserve any special markup (in fact it will
almost certainly lose it) implementation details are going to be very
interesting.

Making this as generic feature would probably take 4-6days from someone
who has solid background in MidCOM/DM2 and cross-platform javascript.
