Quoting Dave Neary <dneary at maemo.org>: > What I'm really hoping to see is the designer (you, Glaubert, Tim) > explain your choices, defend your work, and debate about this with the > community. Agreed wholeheartedly. I can understand personal preference, black, white, grey, but if its backed up with 'a UI study here ...' or '90% of new users found ..." then it will win with me over against personal preference any day. I personally like a balance of dark and light, too much light (although appealing initially) is a little eye straining when you deal with it all day, too dark somewhat depressing. For instance, I've had a designer look at my site, http://www.linuxuk.org and although I'm not completely happy with the scheme it does show a balance between the dark and light. The 'light' is what you focus on, the dark only frames it. I think with the proposals, we have seen a pretty good layout and a good deliverance of information content, the colour scheme on the other hand is not what _I_ would like to see as the final design. I think we can agree now on the information that should be there and pretty much on the layout. Lets take this forward with a vote, ala the logo contest? and requst some more submissions, maybe supply the .psd (if its not gimp'ed) for folks to tweek as a template to 'design the Maemo web site? > Cheers, > Dave. Regards, Jamie.
