Part of my concern for being specific about the semantics of the  
council stems from a desire to limit the scope of the council to a  
realistic breadth. For a variety of reasons (both ideological and  
otherwise), I don't think it's possible (nor necessarily desirable) to  
account for itT in the council's scope. Now, this is not to dismiss  
the many fine contributions that come from itT (heck, a large amount  
of my participation in Maemo has been through itT, and it's certainly  
where I got started), but there is a certain segment of its population  
whose views cannot be well addressed by a council, so it shouldn't  
pretend to try to.

Myself, I would definitely consider #maemo to be part of the maemo.org  
Community.
